Making a positive impact on you, your business and our communities

We’ve worked hard to make our carbon footprint smaller, across all our products and services. So, when you partner with us, you make your carbon footprint smaller, too. Discover how we can help you reach your goal to work more sustainably.

Our People. Planet. Paint. Promise

We want to paint a brighter future for the industry, our customers, and the world. Here’s how we’re doing it.

  • People

We want to support people through challenging times and give opportunities to the next generation. So we’re focused on creating and improving community spaces, giving people access to donated paint, upskilling people and providing the opportunity for training and new careers.

  • Planet

We’ve already recycled over 1 million cans, and we aim to triple the number of empty cans we recycle by the end of 2025. You can help by bringing your empty cans – from any paint brand – to your local Dulux Decorator Centre. Or if we’re making a delivery to you, we can collect your cans.

  • Paint

One way we can make a positive change is by switching from solvent-based to water-based paints. We work closely with manufacturers to provide water-based decorative paints that perform equally as well or better than solvent-based alternatives – helping to make it easier for you to switch.

Our Sustainability Commitments

Re-use and recycle to reduce waste

  • Recycled paint products

Dulux Trade Evolve Matt is made from 35% recycled paint. We source paint destined for landfill or incineration, put it through a strict recycling process and re-engineer it into a new matt product that maintains the high quality standard you’d expect from Dulux.

  • Reducing packaging

Dulux Decorator Centre Foil Caulk now comes in a 97% recyclable foil tube, helping to reduce the plastic waste going to landfill. By 2025, we plan to ensure that all our plastic packaging contains at least 50% recycled content.

  • Bulk packaging trial

For large projects, packaging paint in individual 10L containers can lead to a lot of plastic waste – especially if the containers are not recycled. So we’re now trialling 170L reusable containers, which allow you to bulk buy the paint you need in more sustainable packaging.

How we can help you play your part

  • Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt Can

    Paint calculator

It’s easy to overestimate the amount of paint you need. So we’ve created this paint calculator to help you work out exactly how much paint you need. This quick and easy tool helps ensure you don’t overspend, or end up with excess paint going to waste.

  • Group painting a wall

    Community RePaint

If you’re left with excess paint, contact Community RePaint, one of our charity partners. This network of non-profit organisations collects local leftover paint and, for a small fee, redistributes it to charities, community groups and those in social need.

  • Can to be recycled

    Can recycling

Our free can recycling scheme makes it easy for you to reduce your waste and strengthen your green credentials. We guarantee every part of the can is reused or recycled whether it’s from solvent or water-based paints.
