Spend half as much time painting and let the fruits of your labour last for twice as long - with an undercoat paint for wood it's possible. Undercoat paints ensure that the paint is able to bond with its surface; a wood undercoat will seal the wood, preventing paint from soaking into the fibres and bleeding or peeling further down the line.

From Dulux primers and undercoats to Armstead lines, it's important to know your requirements - water-based wood primer undercoats are perfect for bare, uncoated woods, whilst oil-based primers bond more strongly with doors and surfaces that will be in regular use. Finish with a coat of gloss, satinwood, or eggshell wood paint and reep the rewards!
