Standard matt paint surface hit by plastic object

At a microscopic level the surface of many paint films is slightly rough from fillers added to enhance the strength and durability of the coating as well as to adjust it to the desired sheen level. As a result of this plastic or rubber materials rubbed against the surface will often leave dark scuff marks.

Scuffshield Matt paint surface hit by a plastic object

In the case of the newly developed Dulux Trade Scuffshield Matt, that contains our ultimate scuff-resistant technology, at a microscopic level the surface is much smoother, reducing the impact of plastic and rubber materials on the paint surface, and thus reducing scuff marks.

Typical Use

Dulux Trade Scuffshield Matt is a tough, water-based Matt emulsion paint that contains ultimate scuff-resistant technology. It is designed to protect walls against scuff marks being left behind from items such as shoes and bags, to help keep walls looking good for longer.

Application

Brush, roller or spray. STIR THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE. Seal new or bare surfaces with a coat of Dulux Trade Dry Wall Primer Sealer (whites and light colours) or a thinned first coat of Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt (up to 1 part clean water to 5 parts paint). The normal finishing process is 2 coats of Dulux Trade Scuff Shield Matt, however for significant colour change additional coats may be required. For best colour consistency, purchase sufficient tinted paint for each job including touch-in from the same source.

Over Previously Painted Surfaces; make sure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry, as you would for any standard emulsion.

Over New or Bare surfaces; Seal with a coat of Dulux Trade Dry Wall Primer Sealer (whites & light colours) or a thinned first coat of Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt.
