  • Tricky to avoid runs
The very helpful staff at Merlin Mica Hardware advised me at point of sale that this was no ordinary primer. I've been used to using water-based high-build primers. This goes on like water, they advised. And so it does! Thus very difficult on vertical surfaces to prevent runs. The videos on the Akzo-Nobel site don't help with technique so I developed one of going back after a couple of minutes with a squeezed-out brush to 'lap up' runs and drips. After that it was impressive as the liquid quickly goes sticky as it dries (warm summer day) and will probably last me until well after its 2-year sell-by date as it only needs to go on wood you've rubbed down to bare timber, and not on existing rubbed-down painted surfaces
