How to get started with your SumUp card reader

One of the reasons SumUp card readers are so popular with busy pro-decorators is that they’re so simple to set up. If you haven’t already, the first thing you need to do is create your SumUp profile here. It doesn’t take long. Once you’re done, just follow the quick set-up guide for your chosen SumUp card reader, below.
Get started with your SumUp Air
1. Download the SumUp app on the App Store or Google Play and log in
2. Open the "Checkout" on the SumUp App.
3. Enter £1.00 on the keypad and tap "Charge". The card reader should now switch on.
4. Confirm the detection of your card reader in the SumUp App by tapping "Connect".
5. Your card reader will now sync your account information. This takes about 2 minutes.
To take card payments:
1. Tap or insert the customer's card.
2. Your customer may be asked to authorise the transaction by entering their PIN or signature.
3. If the payment is successful, you'll be notified on the SumUp App.
4. You can now tap to send a receipt, share a receipt or print a receipt. Remember, we pay out your transactions within the next 1-3 business days.

Get started with your SumUp 3G
1. Download the SumUp app on the App Store or Google Play and log in
2. Press the power button to turn on your SumUp 3G
3. Select your language
4. Choose WIFI or 3G connection. For a WIFI connection, search for your network and connect to it by entering your WIFI password.
5. Enter the email and password for your SumUp profile.
To take card payments:
Enter the transaction amount (minimum £1.00) and press the green tick.
Once “Please tap” appears on the screen, you customer can pay by either:
Tapping their contactless card on the SumUp 3G card reader screen
Inserting their card at the bottom of the card reader, chip end first and tapping in their PIN and pressing the green tick to confirm
3. Select “Email receipt” or “SMS Receipt” and enter your customer’s email address or phone number, then press the green tick button.

Get started with the SumUp 3G + Printer
The SumUp 3G + Printer is a mobile all-in-one printer, charging station and cradle for your 3G Card Reader. To set up your SumUp 3G card reader, follow steps 1 and 2 above. Then, to print receipts, follow the steps below.
Print on demand vs auto-print
You can choose to print on-demand or print automatically after each transaction.
To set up automatic printing:
1. Use the arrows on your SumUp 3G to scroll to "Device settings" in the menu.
2. Select "Printer".
3. Choose "Auto-print receipts".
4. Switch it to "On"
5. Receipts now print automatically as soon as your customer’s card payment is approved.
If auto-print is switched off, just tap “Print receipt” to print your customer a receipt after their payment has been approved.
