BULLARD BACK ON THE TRANSFER MARKET
Former Hull City, Fulham & Ipswich star turns back to his decorating roots.
Jimmy Bullard has made a shock return to his former trade and is in the market to join a UK decorating team on a one day loan deal this summer.
The former footballer, who was a decorator at his father's decorating firm for three years, has teamed up with Armstead Trade paint to re-join a decorating team this year as he looks to bring some flair and mischief to the walls of Britain.
Bullard - who has been pictured working for 'Jimmy's Smart Choice Decorators' â was a decorator from 1994 to 1997 before becoming a professional footballer at Gravesend & Northfleet.
He then moved on to play for clubs including Hull City, Fulham & Ipswich Town.
Decorating firms across the UK now have the chance to sign Bullard on a one day loan deal by tweeting the job that they would give to Jimmy and reasons why their firm would be the right move. They can enter via Twitter, using #SignJimmy or via www.armsteadtrade.co.uk.
The former I'm a Celebrity star will assess entries and sign a contract in mid-August, weeks before the end of the English transfer window slams shut, so decorating firms need to act fast to be in with a chance of securing Jimmy's services.
Although Bullard has only just returned to his painting profession, he seems to still spend his time off daydreaming of his former football career.
Jimmy was pictured whilst on the job painting the colours of his former football clubs on a wall, using the doors of his decorating van as goals and painting walls with a football covered in Armstead Trade paint.
On his move back to the brush, Bullard said: "Decorating and football are similar in many ways - constant banter with your team, cutting in from the side-lines and delivering a quality end result. In football you hope to go home with three points and happy fans, in decorating you'll be pleased with three cups of tea, a chocolate bourbon and a happy customer!"
"Working for my Dad's decorating firm gave me a good grounding in life and helped me in saving for my first pair of boots. The choice of paint was always important and Armstead Trade paint gives decorators a smart choice; it's great value, good quality and can deliver a winning finish... a bit like I did as a player!"
"I'm looking forward to picking up a paint brush again and getting involved in a decorating firm, I've still got the perfect finish when it comes to doing a quality painting job and hopefully whichever team I join, they'll be game for a kick about during our tea breaks."
Ewa Czapracka Armstead Marketing Manager, said "Armstead Trade paint is a no-nonsense professional trade paint that can deliver in a wide range of colours and finishes - it therefore shares many similarities to Jimmy's style on the pitch."
Ewa continued, "We can't wait to get Jimmy signed up to his new team, albeit this time it'll be a team of decorators. Weâre sure that he'll give the winning decorating firm a huge boost. Hopefully they'll be impressed by his skills on the painting front, although I wouldn't be surprised if he also organises a kick about during a tea break and delivers as much banter as he does paint on the wall"
