Hamilton has hit our shelves with a brand-new look, a clear and concise range and, more excitingly, a revolutionary new brush!

Sarah Coussens, Head of their Marketing for the Trade Channel, talks about this brave new future for the much-loved decorating tools brand.
“This has been a journey almost 4 years in the making for Hamilton. What you see now for our brand has involved a huge team of people and painstaking research, testing and development – in the lab, by hand, by paint manufacturers and by decorating professionals.
We understand that the decorating community is very protective of Hamilton, and we are confident that we have reacted to their needs and can provide the perfect decorating tool solutions that work with today’s evolving paint formulas.”
Amongst all of this, the most notable, long-awaited achievement is the introduction of their CleanEdge™ technology.
Hannah Jones, Product Manager, explains more about this huge development for the brand:
“With paint formulations continuously evolving, we know that one brush does not suit all. That’s why we have developed this brand-new filament to sit alongside our well-established MaxStroke™ filament in our top level Perfection range.”
She continues, “What does this mean to our users? They will be able to choose the right brush, for the right paint, for the right job – every time. Our Perfection CleanEdge™ brush selection will replace natural bristle completely. We understand that this is a tough pill to swallow for hardened bristle lovers, however, the quality of such natural animal-borne bi-product is constantly declining. This decline means that our strive to deliver the best quality products will be hindered, and at Hamilton, we will not let that happen.”
Hamilton’s new CleanEdge™ filaments have been tested in laboratory conditions, by third party bodies, by well-known UK paint manufacturers and, more importantly, in the hands of real users and the performance surpasses that of natural bristle.
“In fact, we have ultimately developed a synthetic brush to mimic the structure of natural bristle, outperform it and that has the benefits of being easier to clean, with no need to break in. Who else other than Hamilton, would deliver such innovation? We look forward to our users having it in their hands”, says Sarah.
Which Perfection brush to choose?
Hamilton are offering 2 synthetic brush ranges in their top Perfection tier, specifically designed by paint type.

The Perfection MaxStroke™ brush is made with MaxStroke™ filaments – these super soft tips mean you will experience superb pick-up and a measured release for a flawless finish, giving you the maximum from every stroke. These filaments are meticulously engineered for today’s low viscosity paints. What does this mean to you? These brushes will perform exceedingly well in those paints that have a low viscosity, ie. Thinner and more fluid (such as Dulux Trade Diamond Matt).
The Perfection CleanEdge™ brush is made with Hamilton’s new CleanEdge™ filaments. These stiffer, flagged tips mean that you can use them straight from the pack. With this innovative filament mix you will experience an even flow of paint allowing you to push and drag thicker paints – whilst achieving a clean edge.

These filaments are unique and meticulously engineered for today’s higher viscosity paints. What does this mean to you? Technology in paint is constantly evolving. This brush will perform exceedingly well in those paints that have a higher viscosity, ie. Thicker and less fluid (such as Dulux Trade High Gloss or Satinwood).
Why choose Perfection?
- Speed and ease
- A superior quality finish
- Hamilton’s best pick-up and measured release
- Classically shaped FSC® certified wooden handles with traditional lacquer coating
Select from the Perfection range for brushes and rollers of the highest quality built with the discerning painter and decorator in mind. When a professional wants to ensure the right brush and the right roller, for the right paint and the right finish they can choose from Perfection.
Brushes have been developed with specialist filaments for both thinner and thicker paints, whilst each roller pile uses a different fabric specifically tailored to the desired surface.
The perfect partner for Dulux Decorator Centres.
