Guidelines for Colouring the Community projects
Terms and conditions of entry
In order to be eligible for a donation through Dulux Decorator Centres' Colouring the Community scheme, project leaders need to guarantee the following:
- If the project has appeared in any local media, this should be disclosed to TPR at the beginning
- Project leaders must be able to submit before and after shots of the project within one week of acceptance and one week of completion
- Paint and materials must be collected within two weeks of Dulux Decorator Centres accepting the project and the work must be carried out within two months from the project being accepted
- Projects must include colours, other than just white, in the makeover. White can be used, but only in conjunction with other colours. This could be the emblem of the cricket club in the pavilion, one wall painted in a bright colour in a village hall, or a mural on either the interior or exterior of the building
- Projects must be progressed on a weekly basis and project leaders must be available for contact each week throughout the duration of the project
- Project leaders must allow TPR to handle all media activity and should not approach local media regarding the donation without liaising with TPR
- Any third parties associated with the donations are not permitted to carry out any media activity without TPR's approval
By agreeing to the above, you comply with the terms and conditions. Note, any non compliance may result in project leaders having to pay for the materials donated by Dulux Decorator Centres.
Step by step process
- Once a project has been accepted onto the Colouring the Community scheme, TPR notifies the project leaders via telephone and sends the following:
- Colouring the Community guidelines
- Terms and conditions
- Photography guidelines
- Details of the store supporting the project
- Project leaders can then contact the store manager to talk through the paint required and to arrange a suitable time to collect it
- Project leaders must provide full contact details, including email address and telephone numbers to TPR, and be available for contact on a weekly basis
- TPR will draft a press release once the paint has been collected and the project work is underway, and it will require the project leader to provide any extra details about the makeover that it does not already have. Full co-operation from the project leader is required, to ensure TPR has enough information for the press releases
- Once the press release has been approved by DDC/store manager, TPR seeks approval from the project leader and issues the release into the local press, along with the photographs received - both before and after shots
Photography guidelines
As part of their co-operation, project leaders are required to provide a selection of photographs which satisfy the guidelines below - to also be lifted and included on the DDC website
- Photography must be taken with a digital camera (no phones) and must not be blurred
- Photography must be taken at the start and end of the project, highlighting the area that will be painted, and then the finished work e.g. team in front of completed mural, painted room etc. The 'before' shot must be emailed to the relevant contact at TPR within one week of the project being accepted, and the 'after' shot within one week of completion of the project, and must include a photo caption detailing who's in the photo from left to right
- Each image must be a minimum of 1mb in size to ensure quality and must be in focus
- Each image must feature Dulux Decorator Centres' supplied products along with the project team
- Dulux Decorator Centres' branding must be visible in each image
-
- Each photo must be staged and the project team must be facing the camera and smiling - all of the project team's faces must be visible
- No action shots
- Once Dulux Decorator Centres receives the images, it assumes that consent has been sought for all individuals present in image, to be featured in local media
